It took me a while to come up with the text for today’s update. After Tuesday's meeting with Michael Kostrzyński, Basza, CERB, Gufi and Madej tore me with mixed feelings.
I got another great day spent with the leading crew of Polish skating, but one of the discussions we took that day gave me some struggle. Eventually we came up with rather sad conclusion: it`s year 2013, and we meet for the session with the same people (more or less ), who we were skating with in 2007 or 2008. New characters appear occasionally. Sometimes they stay longer, sometimes drop out after a few seasons. Why "aggressive skating" has become so small (compared to skateboard or BMX) and not so popular? Whether this is due to the lack of presence of the sport in the media, the lack of major sponsors, or maybe the other way around: we are not in the media and we have no sponsors because we lack of popularity? Or maybe blading will never conquer popularity because they are a sport that requires specific approach of an individual? The problem can be viewed through the prism of a number of factors, let me know if you think that the topic is worth developing. I'm curious about your ideas of how this situation could be changed. I encourage everybody to participate in discussion below – I`m waiting for your comments :) Coming back to today's photos: Tauzen is a common name of the biggest estate located in the north of Katowice. Basza (who lives there and unfortunately finished the day with a massive bail ) took us to the best spots of this place – “endless rail paradise” which was annihilated even though it was +35 C degrees. Check the results and once again I encourage to discuss!
